Résumé

The Johanniterhalle in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, built during the Romanesque period, has been comprehensively restored and equipped with modern technology in the past years in order to expose a high-level art collection. To ensure stable indoor climate conditions air-conditioning equipment with heating, cooling, humidifying and dehumidifying functions is installed. Furthermore, an integrated under-floor heating covers the basic heating in winter and cooling during hot summer days. For operating the various HVAC-system components in an appropriate manner a comprehensive climate monitoring concept was developed and implemented, in addition to the standard computer-programme version. With a total of 500 sensors the daily and annual varying climate conditions can be differentiated evaluated and thus the HVAC-systems can be operated in an optimized way.
