Résumé

The adsorption-desorption isotherms and relaxation rates of water in two–dimensional hexagonal mesoporous silica (MPS) with three different pore dimensions of (a) 10.5 nm in diameter and ca. 400 nm in length, (b) 9.4 nm in diameter and 1–1.5 µm in length, and (c) 3.8 nm in ca. 500 nm in length were measured at 298 K using a gravimetric method. All the adsorption-desorption isotherms were Type V with significant hysteresis. The hysteresis was observed in the transient region between the layer-adsorption state and pore-filling state, where the capillary condensation and evaporation occurred. The relaxation rate of water uptake and release in the transient region depended on the magnitude of a stepwise change in relative humidity. The detail analysis of the relaxation curves showed that the transport mechanism of water in this region could be liquid–water flow through the combination of advection and diffusion.
