Résumé

A European certification scheme for air handling and refrigeration equipment was launched in 1994, and the purpose is to verify performances declared in catalogues, by testing samples in independent laboratories. Besides, energy efficiency labelling (A-G) is nowadays mandatory on the European market for many goods, including residential air conditioners. This mark is now well known by the general public. Therefore, in order to promote efficiency also for industrial equipment, Eurovent Certification is extending labelling to a larger scope. This work, based on solid technical rating, has been conducted in parallel to up-dating of standards, and also directives of the European Commission "Eco-design for Energy using Products" (the purpose of which is to ban less efficient equipment), "Labelling" (to differentiate efficiency of products) and "Eco-Label" (to promote most environmental-friendly equipment). A clear and meaningful distinction of energy efficient products on the market is at the root of a huge energy saving potential, readily available.
