Résumé

This paper discusses issues about energy utilization efficiency and environmental protect for gas air conditioners in urban districts, and points out that replacing electrical air conditioners by gas air conditioners could not inevitably improve primary energy efficiency, if gas air conditioners bring pollutants and waste heat exhaust into the urban districts during the primary energy conversion process, the air quality would deteriorate; also an enhanced heat island effect would certainly increase energy consumption for air conditioning. Meanwhile, installation and operation of gas air conditioners are limited by resources and environmental factors. Therefore, gas air conditioners should be limited to a central site, residence site of high, and medium, density in urban districts.
