Résumé

Typical indoor temperature, humidity conditions and their distributions are needed in a probability-based design for targeting long-term energy-savings, while guaranteeing the service life of the building or indoor air quality. To give an overview of the indoor temperature and humidity conditions in modern multi-story apartment buildings, long-term field measurements were collected in 61 apartments among 28 blocks of flats constructed between 1990…2010 in Estonia. Large variations in temperature showed problems related to the control of heating system. A large variation in RH, in addition to temperature variations, indicated that problems exist in the ventilation system’s performance. In 61 % of the apartments, the indoor temperature did not correspond with the target values of indoor climate category III. The biggest problem was the very high level of temperature, both during winter and summer. The analysis of questionnaires also confirmed the problem of too high room temperature in the studied apartments. Other major problems were dust on surfaces, too dry air, and stuffy air.
