Résumé

Thermal conductivity of Refrigerants in the liquid state is an open issue: the continuous development of new refrigerants always implies the necessity of new thermal conductivity values. Since measured values usually don't cover the entire temperature range of industrial interest, estimation methods have intense application. A lack of consistent theories of the liquid state still generates an absence of reliable theoretical methods, so empirical estimation is the most used way to produce thermal conductivity values at different temperatures. In this paper a comparison of three different methods to estimate thermal conductivity is presented; the database used for this comparison contains almost used refrigerants belonging to the methane, ethane and propane series (almot all those included in ASHRAE Standard 34) and a wide temperature range (reduced temperature from 0.30 to 0.95) is considered. Conclusions are drawn regarding accuracy of these methods and possible improvements.
