Configurations alternatives utilisant le R-449A pour améliorer l'efficacité énergétique d’un système frigorifique commercial au R-404A.

R-449A configurations for energy efficiency improvement of an R-404A commercial refrigeration system.

Résumé

The basic cycle with IHX, direct injection, economizer, economizer with IHX, parallel compression, and cascade configurations has been proposed with R-449A to improve a supermarket refrigeration system’s energy efficiency with R-404A. The indirect expansion systems cover low and medium temperature (LT and MT) commercial applications and are equipped with a subcooler. Its operation was recorded using R-404A and R-449A during a representative period. A semi-empirical analysis is then performed to simulate how the R-449A indirect refrigeration system would work with these advanced configurations. Finally, the energetic and operating results are compared between R-449A basic cycle and the advanced configurations semiempirical results. The proposed solutions result in benefits coming from a further increase in the coefficient of performance (COP), highlighting parallel compression for the MT and LT circuits and cascade for the second one. COP’s enhancement benefits the proposed system’s environmental performance, reducing the carbon footprint, which could also be influenced by the R-449A lower global warming potential.
