Confinement du F-gaz : deux projets menés au Royaume-Uni sur la diminution des émissions et des fuites de frigorigènes.

F-gas containment: two UK led projects on reducing refrigerant emissions and leakage.

Résumé

This paper discusses the environmental and financial impacts of direct refrigerant emissions from refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) systems, levels of F Gas emissions for the RAC sector and reported leakage rates for different types of system. It also describes two UK led projects aimed at raising awareness of the nature of refrigerant leaks and providing technical information and tools to help contain refrigerant. The REAL Zero project surveyed over 80 systems to collect site specific data on refrigerant leakage in a range of applications and developed guidance notes, carbon reporting tools and a training scheme. A second project, REAL-SKILLS-EUROPE is taking the REAL Zero ideas and concepts into Europe, to develop pan European e-learning vocational and educational training in refrigerant management and leakage reduction skills. These projects are part of a wider ranging series of IOR initiatives and collaborative research projects on the sustainability of RAC systems.
