Cryorefroidisseurs de faible puissance : état de l'art.

State-of-the-art review on low-power cryocoolers.

Auteurs : BRAKE H. J. M. ter

Résumé

Over the last decade, enormous progress has been achieved in cryocooling. Lower temperatures can be obtained with mechanical coolers by applying new regenerator materials. Pulse-tube cooling has developed into a reliable technique. Important progress was made in performance and lifetime. The paper reviews the trends in cryocooling over the last few years on aspects as cooling performance, reliability and lifetime, cost, mass and size. The discussion is limited to coolers for the cryogenic temperature range, and with cooling powers below some tens of watts. A cryocooler database that was recently compiled was used for the survey. Historical trends are investigated by comparing the survey with earlier studies.
