Cuves internes de réfrigérateurs comparées à la prochaine génération d'agents d'expansion de mousse : compatibilité entre matières plastiques et mousses III.

Refrigerator foodliners vs. next generation foam blowing agents: plastic/foam compatibility III.

Auteurs : HORTIN K. L.

Résumé

HCFC-141b blown foams are currently used succesfully with foodliners produced from selected grades of either ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) or HIPS (high impact polystyrene). However, HCFC-141b blown foams will be phased out by 2003 due to their implication in depletion of the ozone layer. Evaluations are currently underway within the Appliance Industry-Government Replacement Consortium (ARC) to develop alternate zero ozone depleting foam blowing agents to replace HCFC-141b. ARC has previously sponsored two projects to evaluate the effects of HCFC blown polyurethane foams on ABS, HIPS and other potential alternate plastic materials. This paper will review the details of a third study with alternate plastic materials to determine the effects of zero ozone depleting foams.
