Résumé

A new ejector-based refrigeration cycle is proposed in this paper. Preserving most attractive features of simple ejector cycle, an enhanced ejector cycle using an additional jet pump is designed to utilizing the energy that is lost at expansion valve in simple ejector system. The theoretical analysis of the new cycle is carried out by using the constant-area ejector theory and a combination of the theory with the so-called shock-circle-model definition for predicting jet pump and ejector performances, respectively. According to the simulation results, at the same operating conditions, performance of novel ejector cycle is higher compared to the conventional cycle, especially at lower generator temperature and higher condenser temperature. Among three hydrocarbon refrigerant candidates, propane, isobutane and n-butane, propane has the highest performance. For the case of propane system operated at generator temperature ranged from 60 to 90°C, condenser temperature in the range of 30-35°C and evaporator temperature varied from 5 to 10°C, the improvement of system energy efficiency by novel cycle over the simple ejector cycle is ranged from 27 to 7.9%.
