Destruction des CFC récupérés.

Decomposition of recovered CFCs.

Auteurs : NOWOTNY S.

Résumé

In some developing countries, projects based on the "refrigerant management plan" are being implemented to recycle CFCs from refrigeration machines to be repaired. Recycling prolongs the live time of CFCs and contributes to losses of CFCs into the environment. Sufficient know how is available to stop recycling, to retrofit existing refrigeration machines with substitutes and to decompose the recovered CFCs. Several technologies available are described and evaluated. All known procedures are based on the utilization of high temperatures to decompose the highly stable molecules. The most environmentally friendly technology is therefore to decompose the molecules of the CFCs and to recover the valuable raw materials originally applied to manufacture these refrigerants. This procedure does not pollute the environment.
