Résumé

Stirling coolers are very suitable for use at ultra-low temperatures from -180 to -50 °C in the field of refrigeration. The authors have developed a Stirling cooler and cooling unit (Stirling unit) which consists of the Stirling cooler, a secondary heat transfer fluid circuit, a radiator to reject heat from the Stirling cooler and a controller providing emergency warning. The paper describes results of evaluation for the cooling method used for the cylinder block including piston rings inside and the influence of driving frequency on the Stirling unit performance.
