Résumé

In order to size heating equipments for buildings, the heating load is estimated in steady state and then it is multiplied by an empirical coefficient. However, the building is in thermodynamic non-equilibrium due to changing load and indoor temperature set-point. The idea of this paper is to evaluate the needed heat power in dynamical regime by simulating a control algorithm without constrains and to size the source at the maximal value of the required heating power. The control algorithm uses feed-forward to compensate the weather conditions and model predictive control to compensate free gains and follow the indoor temperature set-point. The method can be used in the design stage of the building supposing that weather conditions and occupational program are known for every moment. The size of the heating source depends on the set-back time of the indoor temperature: smaller the setback time, larger the heating source, but lesser energy consumption.
