Résumé

Transcritical CO2 systems have become increasingly popular in recent years, especially in cold storage applications. Most cold storage warehousing needs low grade heat (for instance, +10 °C/+50°F) to protect the frozen room floor from heaving. In this paper, a pilot test system using the CO2 transcritical rack waste heat downstream the gas cooler/condenser with a pumped glycol-water loop system was used to heat the freezer room floors and to provide extra cooling to the gas cooler return and improve the system efficiency.
In this paper, the CO2 transcritical pilot test system was tested, and the measured energy savings were discussed for several operating conditions.
