Résumé

This paper presents the results of the study on the potential of energy saving by improving energy efficiency in the construction of buildings. The conducted investigation encompassed the existing buildings status in Kyrgyzstan concerning their specific heating and cooling energy loads and energy consumption. The assessment on energy saving measures, foreseen to be taken by the current policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, has been made. Climate and potential of solar energy radiation favor the use of solar energy to replace a part of fossil fuels used as primary energy sources for heating and cooling buildings. Further, this paper describes a technical solution, operation models and performance of the installation of a combined solar-heat pump, stressing that the use of renewable types of energy sources for heating the buildings will allow the savings of fossil fuel resources and the reduction of CO2 emissions, thus leading to the mitigation of its consequence - climate change.
