Résumé

The paper presents cooling load comparisons of a building with a waterproof insulated roof section and a building with moist and conventional sections. The influence of moisture on the overall thermal performance, heat gain factors and indoor air temperature of the envelope have also been dealt with. A single-storey residential building comprising two rooms and a kitchen are taken into consideration. In high humidity prevailing conditions, the absorbed moisture in the building sections increases and as a result a change in thermophysical properties of the material occurs. Therefore, thermal transfer functions and the indoor environment change accordingly.
