Effet de l'utilisation de différents matelas dispersants dans des colonnes de distillation de systèmes frigorifiques à ammoniac-eau.

Effect of random packing materials in a distillation column of an ammonia-water absorption refrigeration system.

Résumé

The paper presents a study on the NH3-H2O distillation process using a random packed column with liquid reflux from the condenser in a single stage absorption refrigeration system. In NH3-H2O absorption systems, a purification process to reduce the water content in the vapour leaving the generator is required; otherwise, water accumulates in the evaporator raising the evaporation temperature and reducing the system COP. In order to study the distillation process a differential mathematical model has been applied on the basis of mass and energy balances and heat and mass transfer equations. This model considers a net molar flux between the liquid and vapour phases, not assuming equimolar counter-diffusion as usually applied in the distillation literature. Results obtained for a given application are shown, including parameter distributions along the column. The paper also analyses the distillate ammonia concentration obtained when using different types of commercial available packing materials and sizes.
