Résumé

In this paper, three types of single copper tube heat exchangers were tested experimentally to investigate the two-phase heat transfer coefficient during the condensation process at different inlet pressures and volume flow rates. Experimental results revealed that the convection heat transfer coefficient during condensation was enhanced by a factor of 4 due to the existence of porous media, and by a factor of 7 due to the use of micropipes when each were compared to the use of macro tubes. The pressure drop was noticed and measured during the condensation process for porous tubes approximately 17.5 (kPa/m) and for micropipes approximately 8.4 (kPa/m) in comparison with a negligible pressure drop for a macro tube heat exchanger. The parameters that affect the sub critical two phase heat transfer and pressure drop of carbon dioxide were investigated, appropriate literature correlations were used. Comparisons between experimental and correlated results were carried out.
