Résumé

This article compares the effect on thermal performance and energy use of various precooling and ventilation strategies which might be used for reducing peak power demands. Various precooling strategies that utilize the thermal storage capacity of the internal mass of the building are effective in reducing the required cooling power loads throughout the daily working period. The most effective proved to be intensive night cooling.
