Résumé
In Fukushima, temporary houses were built further inland due to the nuclear evacuation zones after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and evacuees began to live in them. Fukushima city is located in a basin surrounded by hills and mountains, is moist and hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. Many of the evacuees came from sea-side areas, where the seaside climate is rather comfortable. Legally, the temporary houses must have a standard floor area of 29.7m2 per unit. The current period of occupancy is 2 years in principle. We carried out a survey (questionnaire) regarding housing conditions, measuring room air temperature and humidity of about 30 temporary houses in Fukushima City. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that heat, humidity, narrowness of living area, noises due to close proximity to neighboring houses, were the significant problems. Rooms were comfortable with the use of the air conditioner, but uncomfortable without use. Natural ventilation was not satisfactory. There are many elderly people, but not very many children orof the younger generation residing in the houses. The average room air temperatures of living rooms were slightly higher than those of bedrooms. There were not many differences between the living rooms and bedrooms on the humidity and Discomfort index. Hot and moist thermal conditions are discomforting for the daily life of people. It is recommended to keep room air temperature at 28? in summer for energy consumption. In the house, it is better to keep room air temperature at 28? and adequate humidity.
