Résumé

A novel solar desiccant cooling system, which combines desiccant dehumidification and regenerative evaporative cooling, is proposed and investigated. The system can dehumidify the process air and make chilled water simultaneously. The effects of the effectiveness of cross-flow heat exchanger, inlet air condition and regeneration temperature are discussed. It is found that the performance of the chilled water producing subsystem is sounded when the temperature of the supply chilled water is 15°C, with a cooling capacity more than 10 kJ/kg dry air and thermal COP about 0.8. The performance of the whole system is site-related and it would be promising in high latent heat load applications. Under AM summer condition, when latent heat load ratio is 0.5, the cooling capacity and the thermal COP of the proposed system are around 20 kJ/kg dry air and 1 respectively.
