Résumé

This paper presents a calibrated simulation case study for a building in Canberra. The purpose of the calibration is to develop a reliable model that is able to represent the practical characteristics and operation of the building. This calibrated model can then be used as a reliable baseline model to test HVAC upgrade measures. The initial model was revised by two rounds of calibration . In the first round of calibration, the most obvious problems were solved. In the second round, deeper analysis and fine-tuning of the model were applied to make the simulation results closely match the measured energy consumption . The internationally accepted statistical indices, Normalised Mean Biased Error (NMBE) and Coefficient of Variation of Root Mean Square Error (CV(RMSE)), were used as the criteria to evaluate whether or not the model can be considered to be calibrated. After the model was successfully calibrated, the HVAC upgrade measures were tested based on it.
