Résumé

With the rapid trend of miniaturization and high speed in rolling piston type rotary compressors, an increase in flow resistance is anticipated, as the refrigerant flows through the straight holes inside the motor rotor. A novel motor rotor with axial-flow refrigerant channels was proposed, aiming to significantly reduce the flow resistance. The flow rate and pressure change of the refrigerant flowing through the original and novel motor rotor were numerically analyzed. It shows that the maximum increase in the refrigerant flow rate of novel motor rotor could be by up to 2.9 % compared to that of original motor rotor. The pressure of refrigerant flowing across original motor rotor decreased by a maximum of 12,000Pa, while the pressure flowing across novel motor rotor increased by a maximum of 420Pa based on the principle of axial flow pressurization. Consequently, the flow loss of refrigerant across motor rotor was reduced by a maximum of 4W. Furthermore, the impacts of novel motor rotor on compressor performance were experimentally investigated. Compared to original compressor equipped with original motor rotor, the cooling capacity and coefficient of performance were enhanced by up to 0.8 % and 2.1 %, respectively. In addition, the input power was reduced by a maximum of 1.2 %. Ultimately, the volumetric and overall efficiencies were improved by up to 2.9 % and 3.4 % at most, respectively. This work provides a new approach for improving the efficiency of high-speed compressors.
