Résumé

This study aims to clarify the actual thermal environment in residences during summer. This study is motivated by the urgent need to prevent heat disorders, particularly among the elderly. We measured the temperature and relative humidity in five rooms in each of 31 residential buildings. We also surveyed residents to determine whether they knew the exact indoor temperature. The results show that the imagined temperatures for living rooms and bedrooms were not correct, while residents take some actions to protect themselves, such as opening windows and shading against direct sunlight, they need to do more, such as making proper use of an air conditioner.
