Étude des caractéristiques de transfert de chaleur du coulis de PCM à base de particules de gel super-hydrophobes adsorbant la paraffine.

Study on heat transfer characteristics of PCM slurry of super-hydrophobic gel particles adsorbing paraffin.

Résumé

In order to prevent hydrophobic phase change materials (PCM) from phase separation in water, a novel technique using super-hydrophobic gel named "marshmallow-like gel" was suggested. Marshmallow-like gel doesn't adsorb hydrophilic substances, but hydrophobic substances. In this study, the particles of marshmallow-like gel were used as a carrier of paraffin, which is a kind of hydrophobic PCM, in the heat transportation medium of water. As a dispersant for the super-hydrophobic gel, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) was used in water. The concentration of CMC was set at 0.6 wt%, while the concentration of the gel containing paraffin was set at 1 O wt%, and the heat transfer characteristics of the slurry were measured in a test pipe with the diameter of 8 mm. The heat transfer coefficients were compared with the results of CMC solution without the particles. From this study, it was found that the particles with hydrophobic PCM have the positive effects on the heat transfer characteristics.
