Étude expérimentale d'un système de ventilation personnalisé couplé avec un système d'évacuation personnalisé selon deux systèmes différents de distribution d'air.
Experimental study of a personalized ventilation system coupled with a personalized exhaust system under two different background air distribution systems.
Résumé
Inhaled air quality in a breathing zone is strongly influenced by flow interactions around the occupants. Research shows that inhaled air quality can be improved when personalized ventilation is used and a Personalized Ventilation (PV) system combined Personalized Exhaust (PE) system is able to help control the transmission of exhaled contaminated air. The aim of this research is to investigate how the performance of PV will be affected after adding the PE system. It is also interesting to know how much of the PV air is exhausted through the PE device since there is a potential to recycle PE exhaust air with lower temperature. Experiments are developed in a chamber 6.6 m (length), 3.7 m (width), 2.7 m (height). A breathing thermal manikin is used to simulate a human being. The chamber is ventilated either by two wall-mounted displacement diffusers or a four-way ceiling diffuser. A tracer gas, SF6, is used to mark the amount of personalized air inhaled by the manikin as well as the amount of PV air exhausted by PE device. A Round Movable Panel PV air terminal device is used to supply conditioned outdoor air at 23°C, and the room air temperature is kept at 23°C. Two local exhaust devices integrated with the chair, just above the manikin’s shoulder, are used as PE devices. Two cases are examined: Manikin with PV and without PE; and Manikin with both PV and PE. Different flow rates and distances of PV and PE are tested.
