Performance research on two solid adsorption refrigeration systems.

Résumé

An intermittent solid adsorption system using CaCl2 or SrCl2 as absorbents and NH3 as refrigerant was built. The adsorbents were polished to obtain a powder with homogeneous particles of a diameter of 0.5-1 mm. Liquid NH3 was pumped into these systems. The refrigerating system was designed as a simple experimental apparatus. The authors studied the performance of CaCl2 and SrCl2 and found the optimal working conditions. They obtained the highest cooling load with the CaCl2-NH3 system, maintaining a 98 °C generation temperature. They also found that the CaCl2-NH3 and SrCl2-NH3 systems were superior to other solid adsorption refrigerating systems.
