Etude thermographique sur les entrepôts frigorifiques.

Thermographic survey of refrigerated facilities.

Résumé

The paper reviews existing knowledge of the use of thermography as a tool for assessing the insulation effectiveness of refrigerated facilities. Factors that contribute significantly to the loss of insulation efficiency include wall-ceiling joints and the effect of air leakage around door seals, amongst others. Practical aspects during thermographic inspection of refrigerated facilities include the effect of "noise" factors due to the unknown emissivity of the surfaces of interest, radiation sources other than the object surveyed and the angle of the camera during the survey. Improvements in the analysis of thermograms are needed to enable the calculation of relative contributions of design features on the overall heat leakage value. These improvements would also allow better comparison of materials, interventions, dimensioning tolerances and other features and their effect on insulation efficiency. Examples extracted from experimental surveys undertaken using an infrared camera are discussed.
