Évaluation des performances d’un système frigorifique à faible charge d’ammoniac dans un entrepôt automatisé à hauts rayonnages.

Performance assessment of low charge ammonia refrigeration in a high bay automated warehouse.

Résumé

This paper assesses the performance of a low charge ammonia system deployed on an automated warehouse installed in England. The warehouse is over 300,000 m3 internal volume and operates unmanned using a computer controlled “deposit and retrieve” system. The store was commissioned in April 2022 and this study analyses the energy performance and temperature stability for the 12-month period from January to December 2023. The arrangement of the plant is described, highlighting the differences between this installation and conventional low charge systems for cold storage. The installation is contrasted with a central plant pumped circulation system of the type that would traditionally have been used for an automated high bay. A summary of key risk indicators and total cost of ownership is presented and design guidance for future installations is provided.
