Résumé

The paper presents experimental results of the CO2 cycle for the tap-water heating application. A laboratory prototype of CO2 cycle with hermetic compressor was built. After optimizing the refrigerant charge and metering valve opening, the gas cooler side water flow rate and tap-water temperature were varied as an experimental parametric study. The performance of CO2 was compared with that of R22. CO2 has 10% higher capacity and COP than R22 over the various ambient temperatures.
