Résumé

The permanent substitutes for R22 now available in air-conditioning industry are R407C and R410A. The authors detail the steps of retrofitting in both cases and summarize its results. Retrofitting with R407C reduces the efficiency by 3-4%. The use of a heat accumulator on suction line may increase the refrigerating capacity by 6%. Adding counterflow heat exchangers provides an increase in efficiency up to 7%. Such results have been confirmed by the recent practice in plants of various types and dimensions.
