Résumé

This paper describes experiences in the use of R407C in packaged air-cooled liquid chillers for air conditioning applications across a capacity range of 15-750 kilowatts using different major components such as fully hermetic and semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors, screw compressors, plate heat exchangers, shell and tube evaporators. It compares the performance of R407C with R22, looks at the problems of glide and the solutions, and discusses future developments.
