Résumé

The authors performed CO2 cryotherapy in all patients with hemorrhoids. In anal prolapse, the largest hemorrhoid is excised by the lifting technique with undermining. In the remaining lesions, internal hemorrhoids are treated by CO2 cryotherapy, and varix tissues of external hemorrhoids are excised, and the skin in the external hemorrhoids is refixed with fatty tissues or anal sphincters. This method, round proctoptosis of even Goligher's grade IV can be treated by excision of one site alone. The surgical injury is lifted into the anal canal to become invisible from outside on the next day of the surgery, and postoperative swelling and pain are rare. There are no complications such as insufficiency of anal sphincters as have been reported in studies on the treatment by liquid nitrogen cryotherapy. Endoscopic findings of 60 patients after this operation revealed that CO2 cryotherapy was fully effective against internal hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoidectomy in combination with CO2 cryotherapy is simple, effective and less invasive compared with any other surgical treatment of hemorrhoids.
