Résumé

In Germany, the Thermal Insulation Directive of 1995 already specifies values of around 70 to 90 kilowatt hours per cubic meter. The eventual objective is an extremely low annual energy demand of 30 to 50 kilowatt hours per cubic meter. The article compares four space cooling systems and concludes that only systems incorporating free cooling and highly efficient heat recovery can bring the total energy demand below 100 kilowatt hours per cubic meter while maintaining comfort conditions.
