Impact du dioxyde de carbone comme frigorigène sur la conception des compresseurs.

The impact of carbon dioxide refrigerant on compressor design.

Numéro : pap. n. 2

Auteurs : SUESS J.

Résumé

In the first part of paper, the relevant fluid properties are identified and compared. Furthermore, the characteristic thermodynamic design features of various positive displacement compressors are discussed. By combining the information about the refrigerant fluid properties and the compressor designs, favourable compressors are selected for the individual refrigerants and the various applications. In the second part of the paper, the focus will shift more to the use of carbon dioxide (CO2) as a refrigerant. The properties of this fluid mean that its pressure ratio is rather low compared to common refrigeration processes, while the pressure difference is high. Furthermore, the volumetric capacity of CO2 is higher than for traditional refrigerants.
