Résumé

Pressure pulsations attenuation is one of the major problems in volumetric compressors manifolds. For small household compressors the vibration and noise caused by pressure pulsations have very high impact on the compressor sales. In the high output compressor manifolds, vibrations and pulsations may cause failures of pipes or valves. Those pulsations occur not only in reciprocating compressors but also in all other types of volumetric compressor manifolds. The aim of this work was to establish how the nozzles of different size and geometry introduced in volumetric compressor manifold (in this case screw compressor) influence power usage, volumetric flow and pressure pulsations. All tests have been done using PCB pressure transducers, torsion moment-meter on the screw compressor shaft, all controlled by Lab View and NI transient data logger. The thesis of our investigation: the pressure pulsation attenuation depends not only on the flow restriction but the geometry of the nozzle has an important influence. If our assumption had been right, the flow restriction in case of some geometries may be lower than the other, but still pressure pulsation attenuation shall be higher. Several types of nozzles have been investigated for different revolution speed. Power on the compressor shaft and volumetric flow have been measured. The peak-to-peak pulsations as well as frequency dependent pressure attenuation have been measured and calculated. The results are shown in the paper, as well as discussion of the results and some conclusions. Besides the measurements some preliminary 3D simulation results using FLUENT software for this type of nozzles are shown.
