Résumé

The paper points out some features of ammonia refrigerating plants, such as compatibility with materials, recommendation for design and manufacturing of heat exchangers and piping, liquid slugs, defrosting, lubricant oils, working temperatures and pressures. Information is also given concerning production of anhydrous ammonia, and the scope of main applications in refrigeration.
