Résumé
Questionnaires play a decisive role in the assessment of occupant satisfaction about the indoor environment. But can the relative weightings of indoor votes be influenced by the performed task, room occupation, occupant distribution and the self assessed performance? A study was carried out during 14 months on 22 different field essays conducted in 7 classrooms of 2 different academic buildings. A total of 800 valid questionnaires were gathered on two different contexts: regular theoretical classes and final exams. Acoustic comfort was graded in terms of Noise from the outside, Noise from the inside and one grade for the global acoustic environment. Air quality was graded in terms of Air stiffness, Air smell and one final grade for global air quality. The luminous environment was graded for natural light, artificial light and one global grade for luminous environment. Questionnaires used in final exams’ field tests were similar to the ones performed in regular classes, but included one additional question. Each student was asked to grade his performance in the exam on a continuous scale of better or worse than his own initial expectations. The significance and weighting of the different air quality votes changed with the spatial distribution of persons. This phenomenon did not occur with respect to the acoustic and luminous environments.
