Résumé

The purpose of this work is to study the absorption of R744 through the free surface of a stagnant layer of polyol ester lubricant oil in a closed system (PVT cell) via the pressure decay method. The system pressure and local temperatures were recorded as a function of time for temperatures of approximately 25, 40, 55 and 70°C. The mass of R744 that entered the cell was measured at each experimental test. The data were used to validate a transient mass diffusion model that takes into account the departure from the ideal behavior. The model uses the PC-SAFT equation of state of Gross and Sadowski (2001) and incorporates the following effects: (i) gas compressibility in the vapour phase, (ii) liquid phase swelling, (iii) concentration-dependent non-ideal density behaviour, (iv) non-ideal phase equilibrium at the vapor-liquid interface and (v) concentration-dependent mass diffusivity. The absolute average errors of the absolute pressure predictions were lower than 5%.
