L'hydrogène liquide : une source d'énergie propre ?

Liquid hydrogen: a clean energy?

Auteurs : FLECK U., KÜNDIG A.

Résumé

Hydrogen is again in the headlines. This article discusses the opportunities of liquid hydrogen as a fuel in comparison to conventional fuels. The question is raised whether hydrogen is only an opportunity because of the possible pollution reduction or if hydrogen is in general an opportunity because of the rising energy demand of the world. A hydrogen liquefaction process for a liquefaction capacity of 300 t/d is proposed. Such a process reaches an efficiency of about 79%, not including warm compression. Thus, the future requirements on liquefaction processes can be met when hydrogen will be established as a secondary energy carrier.
