Résumé

Summary of the technical work carried out by an Italian company on the various refrigerant mixtures available on the market, with a view to comply with environmental regulations. Comparison of two commercial refrigerating plants installed in North-Eastern Italy virtually identical, except the refrigerant. Plant A, in Arzignano, operates with R407C, plant B, in Bassano del Grappa, with R22. For both plants, the author reviews project data, plant component characteristics (evaporators, condensers, control devices, etc.), installation peculiarities and calibration parameters. He reviews the technical problems regarding plants using R407C: installation; use and replacement of dehydrant and anti-acid filters; refrigerant charging; check-up for the first weeks of operation, implementation of the liquid lines. He compares installation times and costs, and evaluates the performance in both cases (R407C and R22): operation parameters, COP. J.G.
