Résumé

One of the biggest challenges faced by specifiers stems from the difficulty of measuring airflow in main ductworks and matching fans to system curves. The author considers fluid flow equations, uniform velocity profile, fan selection based on total pressure, not static pressure, and system-effect factors that can distort results delivered by testing, adjusting and balancing contractors and imply that fans are not meeting their published ratings.
