Résumé

CO2 has turned out to be a lot more versatile than many refrigeration engineers first thought. It can be used in many different ways and different cycles. This paper discusses some of the uses of the compound, which is generally viewed as evil in climate discussions, while in some industries it has been the way to build sustainable systems for the future. Many applications require the use of CO2, including a sustainable solution for energy efficient fluids replacing the less efficient one-phase fluids at low temperatures. This paper presents some comparisons produced with a publicly available, free of charge, software, named SecCool, which is produced by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Institut for Produktudvikling (IPU) in corporation with private companies and supported by the Danish Government.
