Résumé
Ammonia is particularly suited to buildings with chilled water based air-conditioning systems and offers the advantages of high energy efficiency and low environmental impact. The paper outlines the advantages of using ammonia as refrigerant in these systems as well as approaches for minimizing the hazards caused by its acute toxicity.
