Résumé

Building the ISS started in November 1998, and it will complete by 2004. The ISS is composed of two major sections that are connected to each other but are in many ways independent: the United States/European/Japanese Section and the Russian Section. The ISS has air conditioning systems designed to maintain a shirt-sleeve environment based on considerable successful space experience. This report introduces an outline of the ISS and its air conditioning system. International activities in the ISS will be expected to bring human presence to outer terrestrial space in future.
