Résumé

The paper reviews both advantages and disadvantages of conventional (DX or flooded) systems vs. secondary loops and identifies the limitations in the state of quantitative knowledge for comparative analysis. The three basic types of fluids for secondary loops, single-phase, liquid-solid, and gas-liquid, are presented.
