Les effets de la température et de l'humidité sur le rendement de la régénération des échangeurs roues adsorbantes.

The effect of ambient temperature and humidity on the regeneration efficiency of rotary desiccant exchangers.

Auteurs : THOM M. G., SHEER T. J.

Résumé

An experimental desiccant-evaporative cooling system operating in the ventilation mode, incorporating a desiccant wheel impregnated with lithium chloride, was tested in Johannesburg. The energy efficiency, cooling contribution and dehumidifying capability of the desiccant wheel generally improved as the relative humidity and humidity ratio of the ambient air increased. The efficiency of using energy to regenerate the desiccant wheel was generally very low, ranging from 15% in dry conditions to 42% in humid conditions. Possibilities for utilizing the regeneration energy more efficiently and thereby improving the COP of desiccant-evaporative cooling systems by a factor of two (at ARI conditions) are described.
