Résumé

A number of theoretical and experimental studies, both in vitro and in vivo, have been performed to explain the action of low temperatures on tissue. Further, the cooling rate should be as fast as possible, but it is not as critical as other factors. The coldest tissue temperature is the prime factor in cell death and this should be -50°C in neoplastic tissue. For the first time, this study demonstrates the cryosurgical response of living nature and the early ultrastructural cellular changes in living tissue, i.e. cryosurgery, in vivo.
