Matériau à changement de phase micro-encapsulé pour utilisation comme caloporteur.

Microcapsuled phase-change material for use as a heat transporting medium.

Résumé

Gas-absorption type chillers/heaters are competing keenly with electric heat pumps in the field of building air-conditioning. Since the chiller/heater uses water's-sensible heat for cold energy transportation, its pipe diameter is larger than that of an electric heat pump, which uses CFC/HCFC's latent heat as the medium. This feature of the chiller/heater also results in greater mechanical power (pump power etc.) requirement than that for a heat pump. Accordingly, the authors attempted to reduce the pipe diameter and the pump power requirement by using a heat transporting medium. Heat having a heat capacity 2 times that of water; to distribute the medium, pentadecane processed into microcapsules was dispersed in water at a 1:5 ratio. The mediumpermits an approximately 20% reduction in pipe diameter and an approximately 50% reduction in pump power requirement in a building air-conditioning system.
